John W. Miller, Jr.
CPCU, CIC, CBIA, CRIS
John started his insurance career in loss control in 1979 for an insurance company. He became an agent in 1983. He joined the Adcock Agency in 1997 and became a principal in the company in 2008.
John holds numerous insurance designations and is a long- standing active member of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina. He has served in leadership positions on IIANC’s Technical, Education, Legislative, and PAC Committees. He is currently chairman of the IIANC Governmental Affairs Committee. In 1995 he was awarded the Ernest Young Education Award by the IIANC. John currently serves on the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Reinsurance Facility by appointment of the North Carolina Insurance Commissioner.
Interested in the community, John is a graduate of the Cary Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. The agency has been a member of the chamber since its inception.
John is a thirty plus year member of the Homebuilders Association of Raleigh Wake County. He has been member of the Board of Directors since 2001. He has also served as Associate Vice President and Secretary. John has served as chair of the Membership, Buildpac, and Education Committees. In 2014 John was inducted into the Home Builders Association of Raleigh Wake County Hall of Fame, honoring his twenty-plus years of membership and service to the homebuilding industry.
John served eight years as a member on the Wake County Planning Board and served three years as Chairman. He is a recipient of a 2007 Wake County Commissioners’ Volunteer Award for Distinguished Service. John has also served a term on the Wake County ABC Board.
John is a member of the Rotary Club of Cary. He just finished his year as president of the club and in 2014-15 year John was named Rotarian of the Year.
John is originally from Charlotte, NC. He is a 1977 Graduate of North Carolina State University with a BA degree in Speech Communication. John has been married to Janet Miller since 1980. They have a son John Andrew Miller, a daughter-in-law Lisa Miller, and grandson Alexander John “AJ” Otto Miller.
Christal D. Ham
Chris joined the Adcock Agency in 1978 shortly after moving from Savannah, Georgia to Cary and has held just about every responsibility the agency offers! In 2008 she became an agency principal and in this role she’s responsible for the day-to-day operations of the agency and performs the accounting duties. Because of her vast experience and knowledge, Chris is always ready to answer questions and help clients. She has earned insurance designations in both the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter program and the Accredited Advisor insurance program which is of benefit to her clients.
In her personal life, Chris is dedicated to her family and is very close to her niece and nephews. Because of her tremendous love for animals – particularly dogs – she’s proud to have owned some wonderful rescue dogs.
Chris enjoys helping others so she welcomes calls from both existing and potential clients.
